Cowgirl in the Sand · Neil Young, 1969

Sometimes I wish I could go back, like now listening to this.

I'll be 86 next week -- Neil Young rocked us decades ago, and this jam is STILL an iconic masterpiece -- that keeps my wife and me still rockin' in the free world !!

The unique guitarist of them all. No one is even close to Neil

This is like a time machine. Takes me all the way back to the 1970s, when gifted musicians and exceptional music were common things. Mean no loop machines.

It is much better to go back to the 1970s, when every musician had to be perfect. There was nothing available to digitally clean up the music and/or songs way back then.

Young people can be forgiven for their views, whereas older people cannot.

A devastating guitar ride, a masterpiece of the Young & Whitten tandem...

All I know is who ever is playing lead guitar, I'm a fan for life.

This is one of the unique and important guitar breakdowns. Era changing.

Driving guitar and complex harmonies.. Cowgirl In The Sand is what good rock music sounds like.

He is an awesome, unique guitar player aside from writing great songs. Bob, my friend, you are quite right.. Neil is a Unique Musician overall.. He has a way of expressing Incredible emotion through any instrument that he plays.. The man is In Touch with Music the way that very few people have ever been... Lary

Better than great, it's frightening

God bless Neil and the legendary Crazy Horse, THE only original garage band of importance!

Love it!! Wished I would have gone to see him back in the day. That guitar makes me melt.

even cowgirls get the blues...oh my

LOVE that Magnatone amplifier Sound.

Oh Danny Whitten!

My friend lived next to Neil in Santa Cruz Mountains, we could hear him jam outside with friends.

I was just thinkin' recently that I've been listened to Neil for over 50+ years... got tons of his bootlegs, etc. ...and maybe it is time to take a break... A huge NY fan. Got his autograph on my leather guitar strap. Talked with him about 20 seconds in 1990 as he signed it... then this randomly comes on... And I am transfixed. Again. My eyes turn to blanks, listening to this man... No one knows the things that he knows...

That short intro Diddley melts my heart..
Neil most likely won't remember me when I met him at his brother's bar on Skyline when he had his ranch nearby. If he does remember me, we had a very good time. Been to at least over 10 of his concerts. He's a hell of a good music artist.
It might have been his brother-in-law's bar? Very long time ago. Went to high school with Neil Shawn (journey) And I met Carlos Santana in San Mateo several times during the jam sessions in a friend's barn. The San Francisco Bay Area was the birthplace of many successful Bands and Musicians. The good ol' days of Rock n Roll.
As of this post, 70 people have gave this a dislike. That's 70 people I do not wish to know.
A Dog and Armadillo once listened to Neil Young.  @SNXLE  Dogs and Armadillos have good taste in music.
Neil's voice brings back good memories, of times long gone.
One of the many songs written about Joni Mitchell
