My late wife was my cinnamon girl. I'm in my early 70s. This is my song
I was a teen in the mid-seventies.... I felt carefree and hopeful. Furthermore, I want to feel that again. Neil Young always takes me there
I’m his Cinnamon Girl (@elizabethodell4964)
Ultra orgasmic solo of one note.
Possibly Neil's best rocker. Also, includes one of Neil's best "one note" solos.
Thumbs if you're listening in 2025
My first concert. 1972 Tusculoosa AL. Neil and Joni Mitchell. What an experience, could barely see the stage for the smoke.
The tempo increases so much on this song. It's glorious.
The master of the one note solo. Whatever that is at the end sounds like it should be its own song.
I don't know of anyone who could hit the same note 24 times in a row, and it sounds So unbelievable !
So many people mistakenly think that Neil is singing lead vocals on CG. It's 75% Danny Whitten singing lead throughout, including the "Hooooo" part. Danny's presence, vocals, songwriting and intuitive guitar playing MADE this entire album so much bigger than what it would have been otherwise. David Briggs once said that he actually thought Danny's songs were better than Neil's in early 69.
I am 80. Sometimes I wish I could go back, like now listening to this.
I still don't know where the time went..
I'll be 82 next week -- Neil Young rocked us decades ago, and this jam is STILL an iconic masterpiece -- that keeps my wife and me still rockin' in the free world !!
