So it's basically a rich people's homeless encampment.
They make tens of millions of dollars as a NON PROFIT.

That's exactelly what it is. A bunch of rich kids playing homeless in the desert.
Just a little math for yall. 74,000 attendees X $700ish a ticket = about $52,000,000. So basically, there are at least 52 million reasons to keep this "event" going. And that's only scratching the surface.
At $600 to $2500 a pop. On public land.
the guy driving into a mall or the fact there are still JC Penny's open in America (Texas)
I thought JC Penny’s closed twenty years ago.
There is a JC in Russellville,Arkansas, that is one of the first JC Penny's. Im 62 and Mom bought many school supplies at that store.
I only got to see them when they were broke. (I’ve actually serviced quite a few helicopter systems. Motorola 911 system)

I remember when this song first came out my mom would play it all the time, it definitely reminds me of her, we used to listen to it on VH-1 Rest in Peace Mom! Such great memories from the 80's
The first thing he mentioned was the ladies in this video
We struggled financially, but lived so richly
A classy, fancy and mysterious tune ideal for a night cruising with your lady after a nice dinner.
Thanks, Kurt! I was little when this song came out and my mom bought this 45. We listened to it so much, she had to buy the whole album! I miss her so much.
. . . my fondly-remembered uncle, who was a musician and audiophile, loved to play this on his high-end car CD audio system. He loved pointing out the key changes! I think of him driving us around with the windows down and this track playing out loud, in that great summer of '86
I want this time back… Please Come back… before I count to 10…
Great song. Been years. Feels good to hear it again.
One of the earliest memories I have as a child is this song (thanks, mom). I grew into a massive Residents fan and, through them, a big fan of Yello. I was randomly checking album credits for Yello's first album and saw Felix Haug. "Who is that?" Turns out, I've known his drumming my whole life! I'm about to go down a massive Kurt Maloo/Felix Haug/Double rabbit hole. See you all in a couple months...

One of his best-known works is You. You was an impressive installation, created by Urs Fischer in 2007 for Gavin Brown’s enterprise gallery . The contrast between the white exhibition walls and the hole dug by the artist created a hot debate.
You was an eight-foot deep crater that measured approximately 11,6 x 9,1 m (38 x 30 ft.), extending almost to the walls of the gallery. It was dug within the pristine white walls of the New York-based gallery.
According to New York Magazine , the pit took ten days to build and approximately $250,000. The same report shows that it was dug using jackhammers to remove the concrete floor. The workers used a backhoe to clear the tons of debris around the area.
