Myron, your videos are the perfect mix of art and science.
My dad had a CD called “The best of the doors” in our car, the cd was stuck inside so nobody could pull him out, so we had to hear all this 19 songs of The Doors. At the time i was a little kid and always got annoyed when he started playing this cd loud, with time i started listening to all this songs with more attention and started to realize the masterpierce that this songs are. L.A WOMAN was probably his favorite song from the album, he played over and over till he got bored specially when drunk. Last night he left this world at the age of 56, and i find so much memories and good moments with him listening to this song, the cd is still stuck in the radio of the car. I miss you so much dad, love you ALWAYS! Edit: Today 9 June was his birthday, and im celebrating like he was here, and listen to this album non repeat. Wanna say thank you everyone for reaching out and supporting.
any time LA woman starts playing in a car pray to whatever god you believe in, if any, because it's about to go 40 over the speed limit

god damn that Jack Palance is playing his heart out in this role. top tier acting. Probably Palance's best performance. He really got into this character. Stounding performance by Jack Palace.
Thank you Joni (Mitchell), for writing this amazing song. Joni created a great song, but Crosby stills Nash and Young made it iconic
I guess some people or maybe most people didn't know she wrote the song
Love Joni too! Think in a Led Zep song, one of their lyrics is “oh Joni”, might have been a live performance. She gets a lot of love from everyone, as she should.
Mom always told me this is the album she wanted to be playing at her funeral. Cryptic. She passed in 2006. I was lost. Only child single mom. But I got this right. Played over the loud speakers inside the chapel. How lucky I was to have her.
CSNY played it as an anthem; Mitchell as a lament. Both are true.
God bless the 60s and 70s and all Baby Boomers
The original is by Joni Mitchell, who even didn't attend the festival.
2025 still listening. Probably will till I die
Written by Joni Mitchell, who actually didn't attend the Woodstock concert. But she sure did nail the lyrics about U.S. kids in '69. Stunning. And the CSNY/Stills/Dallas Taylor version is equally stunning.
I mean i don't know, you know what I mean?

I cry every time I hear this song. Not only that, but I used to cry because it was just so beautiful. Now I cry because many people I first listened to this with are no longer here.

The Allman Brothers Band - Jessica | Live at University of Florida Bandshell (1982)
I’m an old man now and my days are numbered. But I still come out with a glass of wine and listen to this great song.
I still don't know where the time went...
80. Sometimes I feel like I never left!
No cell phones in that crowd. Thank god i grew up in the 70s. And thanks for everything, Allman Bros.
Richard Dickey Betts the most criminally underrated blues rock guitarist. He melted that whole crowd's faces with that solo.
I was named after this song! My dad was a blues musician from 60s- millennium @jessicalane6337
When the Allman Brothers formed, they had 2 lead guitars, 2 drummers, and 2 guys playing keyboards. People said, "What the hell?" But now they just say, "Damn!" They broke the mold.
As a 15 year old I drove my parent's mad playing this over and over. As a parent I did the same to my wife and kids and now as a grandparent I'm still doing it , to my grandchildren. WHAT A MASTERPIECE

SOOO much better with the 35 second instrumental intro, than the version most people are familiar with.

Sonoma hills in the background, where Betty Smith lived.
This video is from Sonoma State College in April 1970. This was a free concert for the college students and local community. A well-recorded video/ audio for it's time. What was truly amazing was guest artist, Nicki Hopkins, playing a grand piano somewhere in the background. I was there with my friends, dancing in the fresh spring air. What a different world it was! So glad that this showed up on YouTube.
You posted this 12 years ago...great anecdote! You're mentioning the dancing struck a chord. I love to dance, and am always smh at all the people too afraid, intimidated, whatever, to get out there and shake it. I go to concerts, band is great, vibe is great like this one here at Sonoma, and all the zombies just sit around, eat their junk food, drink their beer, basically too numb to feel anything. Sometimes I'm the only one out there, which is tough to do occasionally, but damned if I'm going to be controlled by the mass fear. And sometimes it pays off---rarely, but sometimes, as others get inspired to join me, especially the kids (teens and twentysomethings...I'm 73...lol!).
This was out behind Sonoma State (College at the time) in front of the pond, a freebie unannounced noon concert. We thought we were getting the best education possible
This the best live version of anything I've ever heard or seen. It's clear, pretty much true to the song, not a lot of crappy "improve", great sound and video. Performed by real musicians, not record company monkeys whose careers were run by bean counters. This live performance beats the holy hell out of Cream, the Stones, Hendrix and the Dead. The guitar work is stupendous, but alas, such talent has been scattered to the winds of time. Thanks for this posting.
Nothing better than a QMS gigs. Takes be back to 1966 & going to the city every weekend to see the Quicksilver Messenger Service through 1970. They were the king of the jam bands. The dueling lead guitar work between John Cipollina & Gary Duncan were phenomenal. The band was so tight.
This is absolutely wonderful, and somewhat miraculous, for the age, considering camera and sound equipment in 1969. Truly a great clip. QMS were the best. Tragic, they were separated in their prime by the repressive marijuana laws of the day.
The pot bust got rid of Dino Valente. Nothing but good. I agree. Absolutely - he fucked up a really great band. First, Dino Valenti left the group to serve an 18-month drug-related prison sentence.
The 2 best guitarists of their time: Gary Duncan & John Cipolinna! Thanks for sharing.
Does it get any better than this?! Man, I got heavy into this band in '68, and I'm still into them. Sorry to hear of the passing of Gary Duncan--we were the same age.
Never get tired of seeing the best jam band of 60s San Francisco Sound. I saw them every weekend from 1966 till late 1968. Still saw them in the 70s, but they weren't playing the city every weekend like the old days.
In honor of my sister Katy s passing, I thank the band, and the posting of thus great video. Her favorite band, and Cippolina her guy. Thanks, Katy, for turning me onto all the bands you heard in person. What a hotbed of rock music, the Bay Area was from '65 on. Grateful, mournfully. John Cippollina (1943–1989)
What a great sound! Really moving post. Two fantastic sides to this band. No better outdoor jam, and then Shady Grove. I feel lucky to have heard this when I was young. It became a permanent part of me. Just got a copy of Shady Grove today, which got me to searching here. If you haven't been back to that album in ages (20 years for me), you've got to hear tracks 1,2,4 and 8. Thanks, Aurora!
I’m wishing Gary Duncan, had a house built right next to me Whew!! He’s such a handsome man, love his voice and guitar slinging skills.
What’s weird is the outfit he’s wearing looks like it could have come out of my closet, back then, too. Love the fashions we had, a great time to grow up
I saw them do this and Who Do You Love at the Fillmore East in 1969. There was never anything like it. Happy Trails is arguably the greatest rock and roll record ever.

Song is totally awesome! I was 14 yrs old when this song came out and still play it again and again. Edgar and the band rocks 4Ever. Nothing like the oldies.

I saw this group live in the mid-1970s. On this cut while EW was dancing around the stage, he got so Fucked Up, he had to stop and start again. The crowd went wild!
I thought, one more video before bed, and I was not disappointed. First time hearing this. Yeah, one more before bed, yuppp!!

Cowgirl in the Sand · Neil Young, 1969Sometimes I wish I could go back, like now listening to this.
I'll be 86 next week -- Neil Young rocked us decades ago, and this jam is STILL an iconic masterpiece -- that keeps my wife and me still rockin' in the free world !!
The unique guitarist of them all. No one is even close to Neil
This is like a time machine. Takes me all the way back to the 1970s, when gifted musicians and exceptional music were common things. Mean no loop machines.
It is much better to go back to the 1970s, when every musician had to be perfect. There was nothing available to digitally clean up the music and/or songs way back then.
Young people can be forgiven for their views, whereas older people cannot.
A devastating guitar ride, a masterpiece of the Young & Whitten tandem...
All I know is who ever is playing lead guitar, I'm a fan for life.
This is one of the unique and important guitar breakdowns. Era changing.
Driving guitar and complex harmonies.. Cowgirl In The Sand is what good rock music sounds like.
He is an awesome, unique guitar player aside from writing great songs. Bob, my friend, you are quite right.. Neil is a Unique Musician overall.. He has a way of expressing Incredible emotion through any instrument that he plays.. The man is In Touch with Music the way that very few people have ever been... Lary
Better than great, it's frightening
God bless Neil and the legendary Crazy Horse, THE only original garage band of importance!
Love it!! Wished I would have gone to see him back in the day. That guitar makes me melt.
even cowgirls get the blues...oh my
LOVE that Magnatone amplifier Sound.
Oh Danny Whitten!
My friend lived next to Neil in Santa Cruz Mountains, we could hear him jam outside with friends.
I was just thinkin' recently that I've been listened to Neil for over 50+ years... got tons of his bootlegs, etc. ...and maybe it is time to take a break... A huge NY fan. Got his autograph on my leather guitar strap. Talked with him about 20 seconds in 1990 as he signed it... then this randomly comes on... And I am transfixed. Again. My eyes turn to blanks, listening to this man... No one knows the things that he knows...

Cinnamon Girl (2009 Remaster) · Neil Young · Crazy Horse
My late wife was my cinnamon girl. I'm in my early 70s. This is my song
I was a teen in the mid-seventies.... I felt carefree and hopeful. Furthermore, I want to feel that again. Neil Young always takes me there
I’m his Cinnamon Girl (@elizabethodell4964)
Ultra orgasmic solo of one note.
Possibly Neil's best rocker. Also, includes one of Neil's best "one note" solos.
Thumbs if you're listening in 2025
My first concert. 1972 Tusculoosa AL. Neil and Joni Mitchell. What an experience, could barely see the stage for the smoke.
The tempo increases so much on this song. It's glorious.
The master of the one note solo. Whatever that is at the end sounds like it should be its own song.
I don't know of anyone who could hit the same note 24 times in a row, and it sounds So unbelievable !
So many people mistakenly think that Neil is singing lead vocals on CG. It's 75% Danny Whitten singing lead throughout, including the "Hooooo" part. Danny's presence, vocals, songwriting and intuitive guitar playing MADE this entire album so much bigger than what it would have been otherwise. David Briggs once said that he actually thought Danny's songs were better than Neil's in early 69.
I am 80. Sometimes I wish I could go back, like now listening to this.
I still don't know where the time went..
I'll be 82 next week -- Neil Young rocked us decades ago, and this jam is STILL an iconic masterpiece -- that keeps my wife and me still rockin' in the free world !!
